Quebec Tax Information

Personal income tax, sales tax, government benefits, and official references for Quebec.

Quebec is the one province that administers its own personal income tax separately from CRA. Residents file two returns each year (the federal T1 and the provincial TP-1). The federal calculations on this site apply with the Quebec abatement; the provincial side uses Quebec’s own brackets and credit system.

Personal income tax rates

Quebec’s provincial personal income tax is administered by Revenu Québec, not CRA, with its own brackets and credit structure. Our Detailed Income Tax Calculator does not currently cover Quebec — a dedicated Quebec calculator is in development. For current Quebec brackets, please refer directly to the Revenu Québec rate tables.

Calculators

Our Detailed Income Tax Calculator does not currently cover Quebec. A dedicated Quebec Tax Calculator is in development. In the meantime, see Revenu Québec’s online services for official tools.

Tax credits

In addition to the federal non-refundable credits, Quebec offers its own set of provincial credits — including the provincial basic personal amount and (in most provinces) a provincial dividend tax credit, shown in our Non-Refundable Tax Credits page. Jurisdiction-specific credits (such as caregiver and home-renovation credits) are administered separately; see the official Quebec resources at the bottom of this page.

Sales and property tax

Sales tax in Quebec: GST 5% + QST 9.975% (Quebec Sales Tax, administered by Revenu Québec).

Property tax is administered at the municipal level in Quebec and varies by city or municipality. The province does not collect a residential property tax directly.

Government benefits

Most federal benefits available across Canada — Canada Child Benefit, GST/HST credit, Climate Action Incentive Payment (where applicable), and OAS/CPP — apply in Quebec the same way as in any other jurisdiction. Quebec also administers its own credits and benefits; consult the provincial finance page below for current programs.
